Legal Brief for February, 2013

Excuses, Excuses

I will see about getting my wills done:

  1. After Christmas.

  2. Before we leave on our summer holiday.

  3. When we get back from our summer holiday.

  4. After the kids are a little older.

  5. Next week.

  6. Next year.

  7. I don't want to rush into this.  Maybe in a couple of years after we buy our new house.

  8. When my business is doing better.

  9. After I get married.

  10. After we have children.

  11. In the spring when the weather is better.

  12. In the winter when the lawyer isn't as busy.

  13. After our tax returns are filed.

  14. After I have met with my financial adviser.

There are lots of reasons why we procrastinate on getting Wills done (even lawyers!).  Make a start today on overcoming whatever is holding you back from getting a Will prepared, or updating your Will if your circumstances have changed.  (Note: credit for the idea for this Brief to Leanna Hamill, Attorney at Law, www.hamilllawoffice.com).
